Shower Channel CPE Installation

Installation – Shower Channel with CPE Liner Membrane

  1. When altering floor joists, consult Structural Engineer for advice and reinforce floor joists as needed.
  2. Frame out shower surround as required.
  3. Connect base of PVC CPE membrane body to pipe work, leave drain bolts in place. Block drain opening to prevent floor mortar from entering.
  4. Trowel mortar onto sub-floor, ensuring recommended 2% slope to drain.
  5. Install waterproofing membrane per manufacturer’s recommendations. Seal membrane to PVC CPE flange body underneath.
  6. Install top section of CPE flange outlet adapter.
  7. Test membrane for leaks.
  8. Position threaded/rubber push-fit coupling in PVC CPE membrane body at correct position/height.
  9. Solvent weld shower channel pipe to threaded coupling/push channel spigot into rubber coupling (using dish detergent to assist fit), at correct floor orientation.
  10. Cut plastic installation feet to height to rest on membrane and keep shower channel stable.
  11. Trowel mortar to required height, allow for thickness of tile and thinset mortar, grade to create minimum 2% slope towards drain.
  12. After floor mortar has cured, apply thinset and install tile and grout.
  13. Install grate into shower channel.
